Gift Guide: Newlywed Couple
"Need gift ideas for someone who recently got married! Maybe something to do with their pictures or invitation as a keepsake." Please note this may contain affiliate links.
As a recent newlywed myself, I feel especially qualified to answer this question! I’ll share that the number one thing my husband and I are telling people we want for the holidays is to complete our registry, so if they still have some registry items available, that’s where I would start! But if that’s not an option, there are plenty of ideas below.
Gift Cards to Make The Most of Their Photos
With so much invested in photography and videography on wedding day, it’s common for the couple to have their wedding album live on their phone for a while before spending more money to display the photos in their home. I rarely recommend a gift card, but in this case, I’m sure most couples would appreciate receiving one to help them with their photos!
We received a gift card from Fracture as an engagement gift. I had never heard of the brand before, but I thought we would take the gift card as an opportunity to display some of our engagement photos and I am SO glad we did! They do custom glass prints that can be organized into a gallery wall with simple guidelines to get the perfect look.
If they had a videographer, a gift card to Motion Books will allow them to have a hard copy “book” that plays their wedding video so they can relive their special day over and over.
Artifact Uprising makes the most beautiful photo books that look right at home on your coffee table. They can be on the pricey side, so I’d imagine any couple would be excited to get a gift card to contribute to their wedding album.
When in doubt, a gift card to Framebridge gives them the option to have their photos or any momentos (think: invitations, wedding favors, champagne corks, etc.) custom framed.
Quality Picture Frames
If you like the idea above but don’t want to go the gift card route, get them some high quality picture frames to display their photos!
These bamboo frames are classic without feeling boring.
These Pottery Barn frames are perfect for the traditional couple, and you can personalize them with their last name or wedding date!
I love the idea of gifting this photo frame ornament that they can pop a wedding photo into. A great alternative to the typical “our first married Christmas” ornaments!
Milestone Magazines
If you have access to their wedding photos and details from their day, get them a custom wedding magazine from Milestone Magazines! Gift card options are available for this one as well.
Commemorative Wine
I’m about to clue you in on one of my favorite inexpensive, yet personal, gifts to give. You probably already know about Josh Wine since it’s sold at most major retailers that carry wine, but did you know they offer the option to create FREE personalized labels online? We created a handful last year with one of our engagement pictures to give to family members. It would be so fun to create a label with one of their wedding photos and gift it to them! Just note that you can only order 2 labels per day and the processing time can take a little while, so if you decide to go this route, I’d recommend doing so sooner than later!
If you don’t have access to their wedding photos, Mano’s Wine has great commemorative bottle offerings for every occasion, including weddings.
Cookbook For Two
Newlywed cookbooks seem to be quite popular, but Cook Together by Dorothy Woods is the only one I’ve been able to find that has recipes specifically written with instructions for two parties. The intention is exactly what the title suggests; to get the couple in the kitchen together.
Custom Wedding Plate
Commission a custom hand-painted plate that commemorates their big day. Here are a couple of options:
This round plate is giving Dutch cottage-core vibes in the best way.
If they got married at an especially beautiful venue, go with this platter.
Local-to-me artist Timree Gold is known for her whimsical and distinctive painting style. She’s created numerous custom pieces for my family over the years, and I think her personalized wedding plates are just the cutest!
Help Them Start a New Holiday Tradition
There’s a good chance their first holiday as a married couple also means they’ll be sending out their first holiday card together! Gift them a book that gives them the space to compile their holiday cards year after year. Note: this item currently shows sold out, but there is a note that they plan to restock in early November!
This Holiday Memory Book is like a guided scrapbook where they can make notes of their best holiday memories for years to come.
Straight from the founder: “Bauble Stockings are a family tradition, where the final gift of Christmas, or a clue to it, is found in your Bauble Stocking. It isn’t the most expensive gift, but it is the most thoughtful, and always makes you feel so loved.” There are tons of traditional designs, but I especially love the Champagne Toast stocking as a gift to newlyweds encouraging them to start their own tradition.
Family Crest Pillow
Commemorate life’s most significant moments with this Bespoke Embroidered Crest Pillow from Mark & Graham.
Wedding Keepsake Storage
Gift them a way to store all the wedding things.
The Library Wedding Keepsake Box features vertical files for invitations and guest books, plus drawers for dried florals and trinkets, so every moment from their special day will be looked after and easily accessible.
The Petite Keep Trunk offers ample space to encapsulate their collection of cherished keepsakes from the big day in a stylish, customizable storage solution.
Date Night Ideas for the Year to Come
Encourage them to keep date night interesting in the post-wedding bliss with the Adventure Challenge: Couples Edition. This adventure scratch-off book will give them tons of date night activity ideas with an element of surprise!
Custom Champagne Sabre
This might not be for every couple, but it is the ultimate gift for the couple who likes to entertain and celebrate every moment. We love the champagne sabre my aunt gifted us years ago, and I think it’s even more fun to do one you can personalize with their new last name!
